The Association
The founding figures of psychoanalysis, Freud and Lacan sought to unravel psychic conflicts through the spoken word, and developed the major foundations for deciphering our unconscious. A close student of Jacques Lacan, Charles Melman was in charge of teaching at the Ecole freudienne de Paris and editor of its journal Scilicet. After Lacan’s death, he founded our Association in 1982, along with Jean Bergès, Marcel Czermak, Claude Dorgeuille and others, with the aim of continuing the work of the pioneering figures of psychoanalysis and ensuring the transmission of knowledge.
